About The Pet Gear Lab

The Pet Gear Lab is an independent guide to dog and cat gear. We write for people who are about to spend real money and would like to get it right the first time.

The idea is simple. Most gear looks the same in a product photo. The differences show up in sizing, stitching, cleaning and what happens after month three. We dig through published testing and owner reports, pull out the patterns, and tell you plainly who each product suits and who should skip it.

We are honest about our limits. We do not test products ourselves, so every pick is built from research and labeled a Research pick. Each guide links its sources, and how we pick explains the method.

How the site pays for itself

We use affiliate links. When you buy through some of them, we may earn a commission, and it does not change what you pay. Our disclosure page explains the details.
